In 1978, during a firemen’s strike in Britain, the army was called in to carry out the normal duties of the firemen.
During this time they received a call from a very upset elderly woman, whose cat was stuck up a tree.
The army immediately responded to the woman’s call and valiantly rescued the stranded animal.
The dear woman was so thrilled, that she invited the whole group of soldiers into her home to celebrate the event with tea and cookies.
After the celebration, fond farewells were given. Then off went the army, driving over the cat and killing it.
